The New York Harbor VA Healthcare system is currently recruiting for one Physician-Anesthesiologist for the Manhattan Campus for the Anesthesiology department. This position will be a Part Time position and salary will be prorated based on the actual hours worked. The incumbent will cover one day per week at the Manhattan VA doing TAVRs. If no TAVRs that day, then they will be assigned to the cardiac (open heart) or other case/s as per the NY Anesthesiology Chief or designee.

Salary: $345,000.00 to $400,000.00 Per Year

Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay)

Basic Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Board Certification/Eligible in the specialty/sub-specialty indicated in the announcement.

Preferred Experience:

  • Cardiac Anesthesiology fellowship and recent TAVR/structural heart disease expertise.
